Stop press: There have been important changes in regulations regarding limited companies:
- It is no longer compulsory for a private limited company to have a company secretary, although if it does have one, Companies House must still be notified of the appointment.
- Stamp Duty on transfers of shares has been abolished on transactions below £1,000. This reduces our costs for companies formed with nominee officers, as we no longer have to pay £5 duty. We have passed on this saving, reducing our charge for off the shelf companies and company formation with nominee officers.
- From October 2008, limited companies must have at least one director who is a natural person, not a company.

COMPANY FORMATION
We can register a company with Companies House normally within twenty-four hours with the bona fide officers appointed from incorporation. See our order form for UK company registration with bona fide officers.
If you need to proceed with incorporation and officers' details are not yet available, we can set up a limited company with nominee officers, who then resign and you appoint the bona fide director(s) and secretary (if applicable) using Companies House form 288a. Our charge for standard company formation and off the shelf companies is £89 including VAT and our enhanced service costs £120. We can also arrange registration for VAT for £47.
